Melt your candy melts according to the directions on the bag. Make some black tombstones and then mix in a little white to give a marbled effect. Let your candy tombstones sit in the freezer or refrigerator.
Bake your cake according to box directions! :) Let cool completely
Assemble tree and place in the center of the cake.
Use chocolate icing to cover the top of the cake and begin to mix in a little green to give the look of dying off grass. I did not cover the entire cake with icing I left part of the base of the cake exposed because it gives the appearance of uncovered dirt, which in this case I actually want :)
Next add your tombstones to the cake, place them as randomly as you can, going in different directions and falling over. You can even break some in half and leave the broken part laying to the side.
Next sprinkle your black sprinkles all over the cake for added depth, but it also looks like dirt. Lastly add your autumn leaves around the headstones as though the leaves had gathered there naturally.
